Overview
*This feature requires a desktop based on private workspaces (that is, that cannot be used in a public workspace).
HOPEX enables you to share your work with certain users. They see modifications as these progress. The other users of the repository do not see updates until this work is dispatched in the repository.
From your HOPEX desktop, you can share your work with certain users. To do this, you must:
create a collaborative workspace
invite participants
define objects on which you want to work
Collaborative workspace participant access level
The access level of a participant to a collaborative workspace defines actions he/she can and cannot perform within this workspace.
*Participants of Blocked level do not receive an update notification e-mail if the Send notification by e-mail option is selected (see Sending automatic notifications to participants).
*To modify the access level of a participant, see Modifying Collaborative Workspace Participant Access Level.
Access levels of a collaborative workspace participant are:
Blocked
The blocked user cannot connect to the collaborative workspace.
Viewer
The viewer has read-only access to the collaborative workspace and its properties. He/she cannot update the collaborative workspace. He/she can offer an opinion on the workspace when it is in review.
Contributor (default)
By default, a participant has contributor status. He/she can carry out updates, indicate when his/her work is completed and resumed, and offer an opinion on the workspace when it is in review.
Manager
In addition to the actions available to the contributor, the manager can also manage participants and objects, organize reviews, and modify the collaborative workspace owner.
Owner
The owner is the user who creates the collaborative workspace. Only one of the participants has this access level.
Only the owner of the workspace can perform all available actions in his/her collaborative workspace.
In addition to the actions available to the manager, the owner can close, dispatch and discard his/her collaborative workspace.
Collaborative workspace states
A collaborative workspace can be in the following states:
Shared
Once the collaborative workspace has been created, it is in Shared state. All authorized participants can connect to it.
Authorized participants can update this collaborative workspace.
Closed
When the collaborative workspace has been closed by its Owner, it can no longer be accessed by the other participants. The owner is the only participant who can modify collaborative workspace objects.
In Review
All authorized participants can connect to the collaborative workspace. Participants who have not completed their work can complete it. Participants can offer their opinion on the collaborative workspace.
Owner actions and collaborative workspace states
The owner of the collaborative workspace is the only participant who can perform all available actions in his/her collaborative workspace.
Work status of a participant
A collaborative workspace participant may or may not be connected to the collaborative workspace.
