EA Project Creation Wizard
HOPEX offers an enterprise architecture project creation wizard, making the best working method possible available to project teams.
Creating an EA Project with the Wizard
Use the EA project creation wizard to:
• select the method adapted to your needs.
A method represents a series of actions carried out to achieve a goal. A method is described by a series of phases.• automatically initialize the structure of your project from phases specified in the method, associated resources and deliverables to be produced.
A phase is an operational activity that participates in production of the deliverables of the approach. It can be an activity related to production, verification, delivery, etc.This wizard can be of particular value for deployment of the EA projects in your enterprise.
To benefit from assistance in creation of your project:
2. From the Projects navigation pane, create a project.
A wizard starts. This lets you create the project menu tree and a project sequence diagram. It links the project and its sub-projects to the corresponding methods and phases.
3. Indicate a Name for the project and click Next.
If you do not wish to take advantage of assistance in creation of your project, click directly on OK.The next dialog box allows you to select a project type.
4. For example, select "Business Process Modeling".
You need not necessarily select a project type.5. Click Next.
The next dialog box proposes a list of methods. This list is restricted depending on the previously selected project type.

7. Click OK.
The wizard creates as many sub-projects as there are phases in the selected method. If a phase is supported by just one method, the sub-project structure is also created.
For each phase supported by several methods, the wizard automatically proposes the selection of possible methods.
When the project has been created, it contains as many sub-projects as there are phases in the method.
Using the Wizard on an EA Sub-Project
If a sub-project is associated with a phase that can be implemented by several methods, you can use the wizard to initialize the sub-project.
To run the wizard on a sub-project:
1. Select New > Create sub-projects from a method.
The wizard proposes methods available at this stage.
2. Select a method and click Finish.
Modifying EA Projects
To modify an EA project:
1. Open the project properties dialog box and select the Sub-project tab.
The list of sub-projects appears.
2. You can delete or add sub-projects.
Accessing Help at Each EA Project Stage
In the project editor or in the project properties dialog box, you can obtain help at any time when this is linked to a phase and/or method.
Explanations are provided as a function of the method and/or phase indicated in the project properties dialog box. These explanations appear in the Method tab. Example of information given: what deliverables should be produced, what skills are required?
When you modify methodological type information concerning the project (its method or phase for example), this tab is automatically updated.
