Defining Where to Display the Search Results
Depending on your needs, you can choose the window where the search results are displayed:
• Results (by default)
In that case, the search is rather a secondary action.
It enables, for example, to find the object you want to add in another window and particularly in a diagram.
• Browse
In that case, the search is rather a primary action.
It enables, for example, to find the object with which you need to work (e.g.: modification of its properties, creation of a diagram, access to Collaboration features).
Using the Results window
When you display your search results in the Results window, you can:
• drag and drop the objects found, from the Results window into another window.
Example: when you are creating or updating a diagram, you can drag and drop objects from the Results window into the diagram.
• right-click an object of the search results, to access its pop-up menu.
You can also:
• display the
Results window in full page for a better readability and ease the filtering if needed: in the
Results window bar, click
Maximize

To leave the full page display of the
Results window, click
Reduce 
.
• hide the
Results window, in the group of buttons associated with the edit area, click
Results 
.
Your search result is kept as long as you do not perform another search.

To display the Results window again, click
Results 
.
• close the
Results window, in the
Results window bar, click
Close window

• (Full text search) display the results as a list in the Browse window and benefit from all the functionalities available on lists (e.g.: diagram creation, access to properties and collaboration features): in the Search results pane, click Navigate.
• (Search by object type) access the properties of object found or generate instant reports.
Using the Browse window
You can display your search results in the Browse window.
• Search by object type
You benefit from all the functionalities available on lists of objects (e.g.: Excel export, instant report generation, diagram creation, property access and Collaboration features).
• Full-text search
As with the search by object type, you have access to the object properties and to the collaboration features.
To benefit from all the functionalities available on a list of objects (e.g.: Excel export, instant report generation, diagram creation), in the Search results pane, click Navigate to display the results as a list.
