Navigation menu and panes
The navigation menu gives access to navigation panes that vary according to the solution and the connection profile.
The navigation panes correspond to the various types of objects or various steps of a project.
Most of HOPEX profiles have access to the following navigation panes:
Home: provides quick access to user objects. See Customizing the Home Page of your Desktop.
Dashboards: displays the list of indicators required to steer objects such as processes, applications, or org-units. See Customizing your Dashboard.
List of tasks: displays the tasks assigned to the user.
Reports: presents a set of dynamic reports that enable repository data analysis according to different perspectives.
Example
In HOPEX IT Portfolio Management, the desktop viewable to the application portfolio manager displays the following navigation panes:
When you select a navigation pane, a list of specific objects to which History and Favorites are added appear in the pane.
If you click the IT Portfolio Management pane, you access the object types that compose it (eg: Inventory (by default), Portfolios, Applications, Technologies), categorized according to various criteria (eg: for Applications the Applications of my portfolio).
Breadcrumb
A breadcrumb is available on all HOPEX desktops. It keeps the last pages that you viewed so you can reopen them easily if needed. It is reset on each change of navigation page.
*The breadcrumb trail is especially useful when you display an object properties from another object property pages With the breadcrumb trail you can easily return to the property pages of the first object.
For example: In the home page (Home navigation pane), you click the “Applications” tile (1). In the list of applications (2), you display the properties of an application (3). In the properties of the application, you select a Technology (4).
The breadcrumb then appears: .../Applications/<name of the application selected>/<name of the technology selected>.
To access an older page in the same navigation pane:
*In the breadcrumb, click ... and select the page you want to access.
