The Full-text Search
HOPEX Solutions and products enable you to execute quick searches of all objects that have been indexed. This feature is available as standard.
Indexing the repository
Repository indexing can be performed:
• previously by your administrator,
• automatically.
Performing a full-text search
Prerequisite: the repository is indexed.
To perform a full-text search:
1. On your HOPEX desktop, in the full-text search bar, enter the term you want to search for.
You can add several terms to your search.

To search for a term that includes the “-” character, use the “*” character.
For example to search for pre-meeting term, enter: *Meeting, pre*, or both of them.
2. Click

.
Results are displayed in the edit area.
Each full-text search result contains:
• the location where the entered text was found:
• the short name
• the comment
• the pertinence, which takes into account:
• the number of times text was found
• the weighting attributed to the attribute concerned.
The full-text search syntax
By default, searches relate to objects with names or comments containing one of the terms entered.
For example, if you are searching for two terms, the result displays the objects in which one or the other of the terms has been found (equivalent to the "OR" operator).
To refine your search, you can use operators.
Operator | Use | Example |
|---|
"" | Quotes allow search for a complete phrase | “delivery date" |
* | Replaces one or several letters | "delivery date*" order* |
? | Replaces a single letter | order? |
+ | Placed before a word, indicates that the word must be present | +date +delivery |
# | Allows to include a tag in the search. Enter the # character followed by the first letter of the tag, then select the tag in the list of tags that begin with this letter. Example: #c | |
@ | Used to include a person in the search. Enter the @ character followed by the first letter of the person's name, then select the person in the list of persons whose name begins by this letter. Example: @m | |

Characters behind the “-” character are not taken into account.
