Quick Search (Web Front-End)
HOPEX Solutions and products enable you to perform quick searches on all repository objects, if the repository has been indexed. This feature is available as standard.
*If the repository is not indexed, the advanced query tool is available instead. See "The Quick Search (Windows Front-End)".
Indexing the repository
Repository indexing can be performed:
previously by your administrator
automatically.

Performing a quick search
Prerequisite: the repository is indexed.

To perform a quick search:
1. In your HOPEX desktop, in the search tool, enter the term you want to search for.
You can add several terms to your search.

*To search for a term that includes the “-” character, use the “*” character.
For example to search for pre-meeting term, enter: *Meeting, pre*, or both of them.
2. Click .
Results appear in the right pane of the window.
Quick search syntax
By default, searches relate to objects with names or comments containing one of the terms entered.
For example, if you are searching for two terms, the result displays the objects in which one or the other of the terms has been found (equivalent to the "OR" operator).
You can use the following operators to refine your search.

*Characters behind the “-” character are not taken into account.
Quick search results
Each full-text search result contains:
the location where the entered text was found:
the short name
the comment
ranking, which takes account of:
the number of times text was found
the weighting attributed to the attribute concerned.
