Storage
To determine the storage directory defined by default by the administrator:
1. Click:
(MEGA Windows Front-End) Tools > Options.
(MEGA Web Front-End) My Account > Options.
2. In the tree on the left, expand the Installation folder and select Advanced.
In the right pane, the External files storage path field indicates the address of the business document storage directory.
*Confirm with your administrator that you have rights to access this directory.
Business Document Patterns
To simplify management of business documents, MEGA allows the end user to select from among the document patterns that can be accessed by his/her profile.
The document pattern predefines:
the category, see "Classification".
the confidentiality area, see "Confidentiality and reading access".
encryption associated with a document: encryption renders unreadable the content of files physically stored on the disk (.dat files).
*For more details on the use of business documents, see the "Customizing Business Documents" guide.
Classification
The document repository can be extensive, it is therefore important to classify business documents in categories.
A category enables classification of documents according to standard subjects such as Audit, Diagram, Control Documentation. Categories are organized hierarchically from these main types.
*For more details on categories creation, see "Creating a Business Document Category".
Confidentiality and reading access
Certain documents may be confidential and their access, even in read-only, is restricted to certain profiles. To do this, you must define reading access area to confidential documents.
The reading access area assembles a group of MEGA objects. It can be associated with persons or person groups.
This means that users can see MEGA objects defined at the reading access area level, but also MEGA objects associated with child reading access areas. The user cannot access objects defined in a parent reading access area.
*Use of reading access areas is only proposed with a MEGA Supervisor license.
For more details on reading access areas, see "Managing Data Reading Access", page 359.
