Dispatching Your Customizations
In a Development environment, once you are ready with a customization, you can dispatch it to the repository. This dispatch is associated with a Work Item.
When dispatching your work you can:
create a Work Item
use an existing Work Item to group several customizations in the same Work Item
You can either:
- dispatch all your customizations at once in "ABC Project" Work Item, or
- dispatch each specific customization separately in "ABC Project" Work Item (keeping Complete Work Item clear): Customizations A1 and A2, Customization B, and Customization C in three separate dispatches.
- dispatch each specific customization in a distinct Work Item: Customizations A1 and A2 in "A project" Work Item, Customization B in "B Project" Work Item, and Customization C in "C project" Work Item.
To dispatch your customizations:
1. From your private workspace, click Main menu > Dispatch.
2. In the Work Item field:
to create a Work Item: enter a new name
to feed an existing Work Item: use the drop-down arrow to select it.
3. (To close the Work Item) Select Complete Work Item.
4. (Optional, but recommended) In Dispatch comment (Report) pane enter the description of your Work Item.
*You can enter the description later, see Handling Work Items.
5. Click Dispatch.
*To view or modify active Work Item content, see Handling Work Items.
If you selected Complete Work Item, the Work Item is ready for extraction, else the Work Item is still open to receive customizations.
*To extract completed Work Item, see Extracting Customizations: Building the Custom Package.
