Defining the Data Used by Business Capabilities
HOPEX Data Governance allows you to make an inventory of business capabilities that use the data in your repository.
Thanks to the HOPEX integrated platform you can use this inventory in the HOPEX solutions specific to the description of business capabilities, such as HOPEX IT Business Management .
Creating Business Capabilities with HOPEX Data Governance
To create a business capability in HOPEX Data Governance:
1. Click the Inventories > Business Capabilities navigation menu.
The business capability list appears.
2. Click New.
3. Enter the name of the business capability and an owner if necessary.
4. Click OK.
Connecting Data to a Business Capability
To link data to a business capability, you need to create a concept domain on the business capability. Data can be modeled in the corresponding diagram.
Once the data has been modeled in the diagram, you need to attach it to the domain described.
To create a concept domain diagram for a business capability:
1. Click the business capability.
Its property window appears.
2. Click the Diagrams page.
3. Click Create a diagram.
4. Select the Concept Domain diagram type.
From the object toolbar, you can create the elements of your diagram. For further details, see Building Concept Diagrams.
To indicate that an object, such as a concept, belongs to the domain described:
1. Right-click the object to open its pop-up menu.
2. Select Add to current Domain.
The element is linked to the concept domain, and therefore to the business capability to which it relates.
To view the business data related to the business capability:
1. Open the properties the business capability.
2. Click the Characteristics page.
3. Expand the Business Data section.
