Using Libraries

Libraries are collections of objects used to split repository content into several independent parts. They allow creation of virtual partitions of the repository. In particular, two objects owned by different libraries can have the same name.
Creating a Library

Creation and management of accesses to the different libraries must be done under the supervision of the
HOPEX repository administrator. The number of libraries should be limited to avoid creating too many duplicates of the same object.
To create a library:
1. From the Environment navigation pane, select Standard Navigation.
2. Right-click the Library folder and select New > Library.
The library creation dialog box opens.
3. Enter the name of the library.
4. If appropriate, enter the name of the Owner.
5. Click OK.
The library appears in the navigation tree.
Exporting Library Content
Export of a library includes all objects owned by the library and, hierarchically, all objects owned by each of its objects.
To export a library with HOPEX Windows Front-End :
1. Right-click the library and select Manage > Export.
2. In the Export in format box, select the export format in the drop-down list.
3. (Optional) Click
Browse
to
modify the file save location. Change the file name if necessary.
4. Click Export to start backup.
A series of messages keeps you informed of backup progress. The Execution Report window appears.
5. In the Execution Report dialog box, click:
• Open result file to open the backup file.
• OK to close the dialog box.
