Managing Texts
In diagrams, texts enable informal documentation of diagrams.
Inserting texts
A text box is created under the shape of the element, containing the cursor for text entry.
Fields can be used to insert variable information such as page numbers and dates into your diagram (see Insert a field in a text). These fields are updated automatically.
Creating Texts 
To create a text in a diagram:
1. Click then A Text.
2. Click the diagram.
The text frame is is displayed.
3. Enter the text you wish to insert in the diagram
Modifying Text 
To modify a text:
*Select the text and press the <F2> key.
The pointer shape changes to a cursor. You can then move the cursor using the keyboard arrow keys or by clicking in the text where you want to position the cursor.
The characters you type are inserted where the cursor is positioned. The <Backspace> and <Delete> keys are used to delete characters. You can use Copy, Cut and Paste after selecting text. Simultaneously pressing <Ctrl> and <Enter> enables insertion of line breaks.
Specifying Fonts 
You can:
Specify the style, size and font of text characters.
Specify text alignment.
Specify text color and text background.
Specify a color using the proposed color selector.
Select Word-wrap text to automatically wrap the text to a new line if it does not fit on one line.
Select Automatic width adjustment to resize the text box according to the actual size of the text.
*If you do not select this option, you may have to resize the text box using the handles in order to see all of your text.
 
To specify the text font:
*In the pop-up menu of the text, select Font.
In the window that appears, you can:
Specify the style, size and font of text characters.
Specify text alignment.
Specify text color and text background.
Specify a color using the proposed color selector.
Select Word-wrap text to automatically wrap the text to a new line if it does not fit on one line.
Select Automatic width adjustment to resize the text box according to the actual size of the text.
*If you do not select this option, you may have to resize the text box using the handles in order to see all of your text.
Positioning Texts Vertically 
To position text vertically:
*Right-click the text and select Rotation > Rotation left 90° or Rotation right 90° .
*This text can then be reused in a shape.
Insert a field in a text
Fields provide you with a rapid means of inserting date, title, and page number in a diagram. Fields are updated continually, and therefore when printing your diagram, you need not manually update your diagram to print the correct date.
To insert a field in a diagram:
1. Click then Field.
The Insert Field dialog box appears.
2. Select the desired field in the Field Type box.
The contents of the Format box are determined by the type of field you selected.
Field formats 
Formats appear as follows:
Date and time
JJ: day
MM: month number (1-12)
MMMM: month name
YY: year in two numbers (01)
YYYY: year in four numbers (2001)
hh:mm: hour and minutes on 24 h (14:45)
hh:mm AM/PM: hour and minutes on 12 h (2:45 AM)
Title/short title
AAAAA AAAAA AAAAA: Uppercase
Aaaaa Aaaaa Aaaaa: First letter in uppercase
aaaaa aaaaa aaaaa: Diagram name all lowercase
Page number
1 2 3 : Arabic numerals
A B C: Letters
I II III: Roman numerals
1/x 2/x 3/x: Page number in Arabic numerals followed by total number of pages
1A 1B 1C 2A 2B 2C : Numbering in rows and columns.

Inserting a Title Block
*A title block is an area and a set of data used to visually identify the diagram more easily.
To insert a title block in your diagram:
*Click Title Block then the area where you want to insert the title block.
*You can access the shape of the title block easily from the diagram in HOPEX Windows Front-End. For this, in your diagram, right-click on the shape of the title block and select Shape.
