City Planning Area
A city planning area is a grouping unit of the processings of an information system. This grouping can be carried out at various levels:
- Area: This is the highest grouping level of the enterprise information system. In most enterprises we find for example a data acquisition area, a data processing operational area, a management area, a repository management area, etc.
- District: A district is a grouping of processings that can for example correspond to an activity or a business function, i. e. to a kind of data.
- Block: A block is the basic city planning component. A block is a homogeneous set of data and processings. Information system applications are grouped within city planning blocks.
- Blocks can themselves be split into sub-blocks, etc.
