Creating Reports from EA Desktop (MEGA Web Front-End)
To create a report you must define:
• the report template on which the report is based.
A report is created from a report template.MEGA supplies predefined report templates for each product (e.g.: process analyses, application architecture analyses).
• the report parameters.
This consists of defining report input data.
The parameters define the object groups and their relationship setting in the report. They vary depending on the report template. A parameter value can group several objects.
• the report chapters.
Report chapters vary depending on the selected report type.
You can create a report from the navigation tree.
To create a report:
1. In the Documentation navigation tree, expand the Reports folder.
Reports are sorted by report template.
2. Right-click the All Reports folder and select New > Report.
You can also right-click the sub-folder representing the report template on which you want your report to be based, and select
New > Report.
The first step of the Creation of Report wizard appears:
3. (Optional) In the Local Name box, modify name given by default to your report.
4. In the Report Template pane, select the report template on which you want your report to be based.
If step
2 you started from the folder representing the report template, the report template is automatically taken into account.
5. Click Next.
The second step of the Creation of Report wizard appears:
6. Specify the required report parameter values.
7. Click Next.
The third step of the Creation of Report wizard appears:
8. For each report chapter you can select:
• Presence, to include the chapter in the report.
• Open Automatically, for the chapter to be automatically expanded on opening.
9. Click OK.
The report is displayed in the edit area in HTML format.
