Perfoming a Quick Search in Solutions
MEGA solutions allow you to execute quick searches of all objects that have been indexed.
Availability of quick search
Solutions have this function as standard if the repository is indexed. For other products, HOPEX Productivity Pack is required.
Indexing
Repository indexing is performed:
• previously by your administrator
• automatically.

Executing searches
To carry out a search:
At top right of the page, enter the terms you are searching for in the frame provided and click
.
The search box appears only if one or more repositories were indexed.
Results appear in the right pane of the dialog box.
Quick search syntax
By default, searches relate to objects with names or comments containing one of the terms entered.
For example if you are searching for two terms, results will display objects in which one or other of the terms has been found (equivalent of the "OR" operator).
You can use the following operators to refine your search.
Example of operators that can be used
Operator | Use | Example |
" " | Quotes allow search for a complete expression | "delivery date" |
* | Replaces one or several letters | "delivery "date* order* |
? | Replaces a single letter | order? |
+ | Placed before a word, indicates that the word must be present | +date +delivery |
Quick search results
For each result is indicated:
• location where entered text was found:
• short name
• comment
• ranking, which takes account of:
• number of times text was found
• weighting attributed to the attribute concerned.
