Using the Unlocking Request Workflow
Context of use of the unlocking request workflow
By default, you cannot unlock protected objects. You must request it using the unlocking request workflow.
The Authorize unlocking of protected objects option enables to define the conditions of use of the unlocking request workflow. If the option is set to:
• "Authorize": you can unlock an object yourself.
In this case, a Manage > Unlock object menu becomes available in the pop-up menu of the object to be unlocked.
• "Prohibit" : the workflow must be triggered to perform the request.

In this case, a
Manage > Unlocking request menu becomes available in the pop-up menu of the object to be unlocked.
This option is available via the main menu > Settings > Options > Repository > Authorizations > Authorize unlocking of protected objects.
Making an unlocking request
To be able to modify the object after its validation, and if you do not have rights to unlock the object, you must make an unlocking request.
To make an unlocking request:
1. Click the object to be modified and select Manage > Unlocking Request.
2. In the next dialog box, enter a comment and click Next.
3. Select a person to be assigned if your workflow requires this and click Finish.
A notification is sent to the person responsible for object unlocking.
Accepting an unlocking request
To accept an unlocking request:

(Object Unlocking Request) > Accept Unlocking Request.
The object for which you have accepted the request is no longer protected. It is unlocked and you can modify it.
