Inserting a Note in a Diagram
If you want to highlight a particular point in your diagram, you can:
• add a note to an object of the diagram
• add a note to the diagram, then link it to one or several objects of the diagram.
Adding a note to an object of the diagram
To add a note to an object of the diagram:
1. In the diagram, select the object to which you want to add a note.
2. In the diagram insert bar, select Note . The object ghost sticks to your cursor.
*If Note is not shown, use the arrow to navigate .
3. Click in the diagram, where you want to insert the note.
4. In the Note field, enter a name for the note, or keep the name automatically generated by HOPEX.
*A note is unique in the repository. You cannot give an already-existing name to the note.
5. In the Type field, click the drop-down menu and select a note type.
*Note types are for example: Warning, Correction, Improvement, Question, Remark, Justification, Example, etc.
6. Enter your text in the Comment area.
7. Click OK.
Your note is added to the object of the diagram.
Adding a note to one or several objects of the diagram
To add a note to one or several objects of the diagram:
1. In the diagram object insert bar, click Note .
*To add Note to the insert bar: in the diagram toolbar, select Views and Details and select Notes.
2. Click in the diagram.
The Creation of Note window appears.
3. in the Note field, enter the name of the note or keep the name automatically generated by HOPEX.
*A note is unique in the repository. You cannot give an already-existing name to the note.
4. In the Type field, click the drop-down menu and select a note type.
*Note types are for example: Warning, Correction, Improvement, Question, Remark, Justification, Example, etc.
5. Enter your text in the Comment area.
6. Click OK.
Your note is created and appears in the diagram.
7. In the diagram editing bar, to link the note:
• Click Link and connect the note to an object of the diagram.
• Click Link and connect the note to another object of the diagram.
• Repeat the action as many times as objects to be linked to the note.
Your note is added to the objects of the diagram.
