A technical infrastructure is defined by the set of equipment and hardware necessary to run applications and to enable communication between these applications according to their distribution on deployment sites. It is also characterized by its operating principles (wireless infrastructure, highly fault-tolerant, secured,...) and it can be used on several sites or by several applications.

A technical infrastructure is composed of one or several networks with the servers, workstations and other nodes of this netwotk (printers, routers, etc.) that are distributed on the different sites connected by these networks. It can be completed by the applications and databases installed on the servers and workstations of these networks.
