Creating a Cause-Effect Diagram from a Problem
To create a cause-and-effect diagram:
1. In the Projects navigation pane, right-click the project that interests you and click New > Issue.
The issue creation page appears.
2. Enter the Name of the problem.
3. Click OK.
4. In the workspace, select View > Navigation Windows > Diagrams.
5. In the Diagrams navigation window, right-click the "Cause-and-Effect Diagram" folder and select New > Diagram.
The Create Cause-and-Effect Diagram dialog box opens.
6. In the "Described object" text box, select or create an Issue using the arrow.
7. Click OK.
To open the diagram, you can double-click the newly created diagram icon.
Three object types are available by default in a cause-and-effect diagram: Issue, Objective and Requirement.
*Issues can be attached to most objects: processes, activities, operations, applications, services, etc.
In this type of diagram, the issues are sequenced by cause to effect links.
