Activating Object Version Management
The variation concept has been extended to object version management, retaining the inheritance principle.
The operating principle of versions is similar to the variations one.For more details on variations, see Object Variations.To activate object version management:
1. Access the HOPEX options (Main Menu > Settings > Options
2. In the options tree, select Solutions HOPEX > Common Functionalities.
3. In the right pane, select Activate Variations.
Creating an Object Version
Only applications can be versioned.To create a version of an Application:
1. In the HOPEX navigation window, click the application of interest and select Variation > Application: New version.
A version creation wizard appears.
By default:
• the version takes the name of the initial object, with a version extension.
• Attributes and diagrams are copied.
For diagrams, the described object is not copied (it is a variation of the described object).2. Click OK.
Operation of versions is based on that of variations, to which is added locking of the initial object.
