Duplicating objects
Duplicating objects
To duplicate an object in the navigator:
*Right-click the object and select Manage > Duplicate.
The Duplicate an Object dialog box appears.
*Only certain object types can be duplicated (for example, organizational and business process).
Naming duplicated objects
There are two possibilities for naming duplicated objects (duplicate).
The duplicate can have:
a Suffix (default option)
Example: Vehicle Breakdown Analysis (Duplicate)
a Prefix
Example: Duplicate of Vehicle Breakdown Analysis
The option with suffix can be useful when, in the navigator, the duplicate is located below the duplicated object.
You can modify the Prefix or Suffix used to name component objects of the object.
*The prefix and suffix are not used for objects that are in a namespace.
Selecting the duplication strategy
For most objects that can be duplicated, you do not have a choice of duplication strategy.
For business processes, you have the choice between:
"Duplicate Activities and Sub-Processes"
"Duplicate Organizational Processes"
Duplicating in another library
For objects already stored in a library, you can store duplicates in another library.
*For objects not stored in a library, you cannot store duplicates in another library.
To store duplicates in another library:
1. Select check box Create duplicates in another library.
2. Select the required library.
3. Click OK.
Objects are duplicated into the selected library.
*If you do not check this box, the duplicate will appear by default in the same library as the duplicated object.
Duplicated object names in a multilingual environment
When you duplicate an object, it must be in the repository language so that translations in the various languages will be correctly transferred to the duplicates.
*To determine the language of your repository, consult the repository properties.
