Removing and Deleting an Object from a Diagram
A HOPEX repository object is not simply graphic. It can exist in the repository without being present in the diagram.
The deleted objects are removed from the repository and consequently from all diagrams that use them. The pop-up menu of each object allows you to view the diagrams in question.
To view diagrams containing a particular object:
*Right-click the object and select Diagrams Containing Object.
The dialog box that opens allows you to view the diagrams that contain the object concerned.
Deleting objects
To delete an object from the repository:
1. Select the object and press the <Del> key.
*From the object pop-up menu you can also use the Remove command.
The Deleting of Collection dialog box opens.
It indicates the object you wish to delete together with its dependent objects, if any (operations of an organizational process, for example).
Check boxes alongside each object allow you to select the objects you wish to delete.
2. Select the objects you wish to delete and click Delete.
Selected objects are deleted from both the diagram and the repository.
If you have deleted an object in error, you can restore it by using the function that enables undo and redo of actions.See Undoing and Redoing Actions on Objects.
*Warning: if you select a link between two objects, pressing the <Del> key deletes the link from the repository (and not just from the diagram).
Removing objects from a diagram
To remove an object from a diagram:
1. In the object pop-up menu, select Cut.
The object no longer appears in the diagram, but it still exists in the repository.
Updating diagram objects
When a diagram is created, the components of the described object are automatically inserted into the diagram. By default, if new components are added to the described object, they are not automatically taken into account in the diagram.
For all components connected to an object to be automatically added to one of the diagrams that describe the object:
1. Open the General > Descriptions property page of the object.
2. Open the Characteristics property page of the diagram that interests you.
3. Select the check box Diagram with Automatic Loading
When you open the diagram again, all the components of the object described appear in the diagram.
