Adding Objects to Diagrams
You can add an already existing object to a diagram in different ways:
• from a navigation tree using drag and drop to the diagram,
• from the insert toolbar on the left of the diagram,
• from the insert toolbar available on each object (HOPEX Web Front-End)
Adding an object from the diagram insert toolbar
To add an object in a diagram from the Insert Toolbar:
1. In the insert toolbar click the button corresponding to the type of object required, for example an organizational process

.
2. Click on the diagram.
The window for adding an object appears.
3. Enter the name of the object or select the Create or Connect commands.
4. Click OK.

The command that allows you to use an object from the repository can have one or two titles depending on the case:
If | ... the name of the command is... |
|---|
You can create a new object in the repository | Create |
You can only use in the diagram an object that already exists in the repository. | Connect |

When you create an object in a diagram, it is automatically connected to the diagram.

The same object can appear several times in the same diagram.
Using the object insert toolbar (HOPEX Web Front-End)
An insert toolbar available on each object simplifies object creation by proposing object selection help. It proposes only those objects that can be connected to the current object.
To create an object from an object of a diagram:
1. Click the diagram object concerned.
The bar containing the objects you can insert at this stage appears.
The Plus bottom of the insert toolbar scrolls to display other object types.
2. Click the icon that represents the object you wish to create.
For example:
Operation
.
The link selection dialog box appears.
3. In the link selection dialog box, select the desired link type.
For example: Sequence Flow in a BPMN organizational process diagram.
You preview the object that will be created, as well as the link to the previous object.

To cancel the operation, click the <Esc> key.
4. Click in the diagram at the point where you wish to place the object.
The object is created, with the link to the previous object.
