Risk Prevention Coefficient
The Prevention Coefficient is a measure of the effectiveness of controls for preventing a specific risk. It is used to calculate the Residual risk from the Absolute risk value.
Value 1 indicates total absence of risk prevention. In this case, residual risk is equal to absolute risk. This is the default value.
Value100 indicates total risk prevention. In this case, residual risk value is equal to the minimum possible.
When only the risk prevention coefficient is specified:
residual risk = absolute risk - absolute risk*(prevention coefficient/100)
