Deactivating/Activating the Chat Service
By default the Chat Service is activated.
If you do not want to be contacted by users of this service, you can deactivate it.
To deactivate/activate the Chat Service:
1. Connect to HOPEX.
2. From your HOPEX desktop:
• Windows Front-End: in the HOPEX menu bar, select Tools > Options.
• Web Front-End: in the Miscellaneous toolbar, click My Account and select Options.
3. Select the Collaborative Environment folder.
4. In the right pane, clear/select Activate Chat Service.

When you deactivate your Chat Service, you appear as unavailable in the contacts management dialog box (see
"Managing Your Contacts").
