Common Features : Using HOPEX : Handling Diagrams : Handling Objects in Diagrams : Removing and Deleting Objects

Removing and Deleting Objects
Removing Objects
To remove an object from a diagram:
*Select the object and press the <Del> key.
The object no longer appears in the diagram, but it still exists in the repository.
A HOPEX repository object is not simply graphic. It can exist in the repository without being present in the diagram.
*if you select a link between two objects, pressing the <Del> key deletes the link from the repository (and not just from the diagram).
Deleting Objects
To delete an object from the repository:
1. In the object pop-up menu, select Delete.
The Delete Objects dialog box opens.
It indicates the object you wish to delete together with its dependent objects, if any (operations of an organizational process, for example).
Check boxes alongside each object allow you to select the objects you wish to delete.
2. Select the objects you wish to delete and click Delete.
Selected objects are deleted.
Deleting objects in diagrams
The deleted objects are removed from the repository and consequently from all diagrams that use them.
If you try to delete an object that appears in a diagram, the icon is displayed alongside the object in the Delete Objects dialog box.
The pop-up menu of each object allows you to view the diagrams in question.
To view these diagrams:
*Right-click the object and select Diagrams Containing Object.
The dialog box that opens allows you to view the diagrams that contain the object concerned.
If you have deleted an object in error, you can restore it by using the function that enables undo and redo of actions.See "Undoing and Redoing Actions on Objects", page 150.
