A MetaAssociationType (also link type) is a stereotype of MetaAssociation that is used to specify a domain of instances together with the operations applicable to the instances. The MetaAssociationType associated with link orientation determine the operation to perform on each MetaAssociationEnd for the following functions: extraction, protection, object deletion, search for isolated objects, comparison, impact analysis in the explorer, etc.
