Compatibility with Existing Sub-Variations
In versions earlier than MEGA 2009, substitution was represented by a sub-variation.
For reasons of compatibility, MEGA provides a conversion tool that creates adequate substitutions in parallel with the sub-variations. When conversion has been completed, you can search the list of sub-variations and associated substitutions. You can delete the sub-variations if you wish.
To run the conversion tool:
1. Start the MEGA Administration application.
2. Select the environment that contains the repository to be converted.
3. In the dialog box that appears, select an administrator user and click OK.
4. Open the pop-up menu of the repository to be converted.
5. Click Conversions.

To display the list of sub-variations concerned by these changes:
1. In MEGA, run a query relating to the "Variation" object.
2. In the dialog box that appears, select the query "Obsolete sub-variations conflicting with substitution".
