Performing a Simple Search
Querying objects of a given type
To obtain all objects of a given type:
1. Connect to the Enterprise Architecture desktop (MEGA Web Front-End).
*See "Accessing MEGA (Web Front-End)".
2. In the Query tool group, in the Select object type field, use the drop-down menu to select the object type to which your search relates.
3. Click Find .
The query results window is docked on the right in the application. It lists all the objects found in the repository in the form Local Name / Name). The number of objects found is indicated at bottom right.
*You can float the query tool in the same way as navigation trees.
Querying objects according to their name or comment
You can query an object from a character string contained in:
its name
*You can specify if the name begins with/ends with or contains this string.
its comment
*The character string is queried in the name and in the comment if the Name and Comment containing check boxes are selected.
To obtain all objects that contain a given character string:
1. Connect to the Enterprise Architecture desktop (MEGA Web Front-End).

2. In the Query tool group, in the Select object type field, use the drop-down menu to select the object type to which your search relates.
3. By default the search relates to the Name, Beginning with the character chain you will enter.
To modify these parameters, in Find Object field, click the arrow and select the option on which you want to base your search: Name and/or Comment containing.
*You can also execute a search on a Name Ending with or Containing the character chain you will enter, or on a long name.
4. In the Query tool group, in the Find Object field, enter the character chain on which your search is based.
5. Click Find to start the search.
Search results appear in the Results tab of the Search tool.
6. Select the object you want to consult.
The Properties pages of the object appear in the reading/edit area.
*Click another object in search results to display its properties. The Properties of the previous object are replaced.
