Defining Elements Referenced in a Book
Connecting a report to a chapter
A book can directly reference the result of a report at the level of the book or one of its chapters or sub-chapters.
To insert the result of a report in a chapter:
1. In the Documentation navigation window, expand the navigation tree of the book to display the chapter in which you wish to insert the report.
2. Click the report you are interested in.

To easily access the reports that interest you, you can add these to your favorites.
3. Holding down the mouse button, drag the report to the chapter to which you wish to connect it.
The report appears in the navigation tree of the chapter.

In the same way you can connect a report to a paragraph, but in this case the report is considered to be a
MEGA object and not a text.
Connecting a diagram to a paragraph
A book can reference an object, a diagram or an external reference at the level of a paragraph.
To insert a diagram in a paragraph:
1. In the Documentation navigation window, right-click the paragraph in which you wish to insert the diagram and select Connect > Diagram..
The query tool appears.
2. Using the query tools, select your diagram and click OK.
The diagram appears in the navigation tree under the selected paragraph.

In the same way you can connect an object, an object system or an external reference to a paragraph.
Referencing a book in another book
MEGA allows the insertion of a book, book chapter or paragraph into another book. This feature enables, for example, the compilation of several books into a single book.
To reference a book in another book:
1. Click the book to be inserted.
2. Holding down the mouse button, drag the book to the book or chapter in which you wish to insert it.
The inserted book appears in the navigation tree of the target book.

Inserted chapters of a book appear as sub-chapters of the target chapter.

Any modification of an inserted book is taken into account in the book or chapter that references it.
Organizing content of a chapter
To reorganize content of a book from the tree in the Documentation navigation window:
1. Expand the Books folder and the chapters and sub-chapters you wish to reorganize.
2. Press the <Shift> key, and holding it down, click the element you want to move.

Alternatively you can open the properties dialog box of a book, chapter or sub-chapter and reorganize the content in the
Characteristics tab.
